I was sitting with my class, about a month in, and feeling unimaginably relaxed, happy, useful and alive. We'd had a successful lesson on pronouncing the sound 'th' and were chatting about building a bridge from India to England where we could all meet up. As we were talking a wedding procession passed the road by the school, they all looked at me for permission to go and watch. After this there was another discussion about the differences between Indian and English weddings. I think we were all very happy.
PA looked after us well, especially during our first days in India, and introduced us to the family and school. From then on we had frequent phone-calls checking up on us. There were also good weekends to meet with volunteers and share stories. This was all excellently done and I always felt looked after.
What I mainly thank PA for is introducing me to the family and everything that came with the placement: School, Thiruvattar. I will always know them and am already planning a return visit or stay.
